Do political parties have more rights than individual citizens? Why do some political parties seem to think they have the right to deny Ghanaians of the peace and tranquillity they have enjoyed for years?

Who gives anyone any rights to disrupt public order? What are the national institutions for? If they are not functioning well whose fault is it? How come? Is that new? Since when did they start malfunctioning?

So if the institutions aren’t functioning properly, independently or autonomously is the solution to fixing that violence or dialogue? If we cannot respect dialogue and respect for institutions why do we keep political parties and what are coming in government to do?

If we can resolve our differences and respect the rule of law, how can we maintain the rule of law when we are in power?

Why do some sections of the population think they must resort to violence if they cannot have their way?

Why can’t people speak to the population to really demonstrate what rules are being broken? And if rules are being broken are there any national laws or constitutional provisions for resolving that?

Must we always win before we feel happy? For some, democracy is good only when they are occupying offices/in power. Bad when they can’t have their way? Where is consensus building in all of this?

Individuals can’t even be free to express their own thoughts and opinions without a rain of insults!

I find somethings very uncalled for and immature in the democratic discourse and dispensation in Ghana.

My two cents for today!

Please express your thoughts clearly and meaningfully without insults; failure to comply will result in your exclusion from the discussions.

Thank you! Happy Sunday!
