A local Nail and Spa salon (Bihn’s) has been linked to a recent uptick of COVID-19 cases in the city of Kingston, 8 so far in less than a week with several others being tested and quarantined. This the highest number of cases the city has recorded in weeks.

Among those infected are a hospital worker, two families (customers), a patient, a restuarant and the owner of the Nail salon and her husband. Apparently, the owner tested positive after a public health investigation traced the source of the new outbreak to the nail salon. She had not shown any symptoms!

Health authorities are asking anyone who visited the Nail salon since June 12, to isolate effective immediately or visit the COVID-19 assessment center if they have any symptoms or are worried about an exposure.

A local restaurant has also closed after one of its employees who worked at restaurant’s kitchen tested positive after experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Patrons are advised to self isolate for 14 days or get a COVID-19 test if worried or are experiencing any COVID-19 like symptoms.

This shows how fragile and evolutive the situation is. The risk of a exposure is everywhere. Please restrict your movements and social gatherings as much as possible.

Postpone non essential activities and services unless absolutely necessary.

Stay safe!
