COVID-19: A Disease that tends to affect cosmopolitan and international cities the most. It appears as if this is a disease highly associated with travels.
Lombardy region home to Milan, an international fashion capital, and many ancient tourist attractions is one of the hardest COVID-19 hit areas in the world. Lombardy has 3,000 of Italy’s 4,800 COVID-19 deaths. Lombardy also has 27,000 cases? Bergamo area alone accounts for a quarter of the deaths in Lombardy. Hundreds have died at the Pope John XXIII hospital in Bergamo.
- The situation in New York State and New York city (NYC) is another testament. Yesterday governor Cuomo said New York State had more than 50% of all COVID-19 cases in the USA. NYC leading within the state of NY. NYC is a fashion and diplomatic capital with many international travels.
This appears to be the trend across the globe.
Please stay in; stop traveling and unnecessary outings. If you live in a large cosmopolitan city be extra careful. That said, small city dwellers are not immuned either.
Protect yourselves! Prevention (social distancing, hand washing, etc) is your best bet because there are no guarantees of access to care or full recovery. As your chance of survival or recovery depends on early detection, timely testing and adequate care delivery.
Stay safe.
