Congratulations to Ghana and the people of Ghana. May the country continue to shine in Africa and beyond. Although the country has numerous problems, it has also come a long way from colonial domination where the natives were segregated and looked down upon to self rule, military dictatorship to a sustainable democracy.
Recently, Ghana was the first country in the Middle and low income category to receive the fist batch of the WHO’s Covax program, a testament to its excellent handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Some of Ghanas COVID-19 containment measures (pcr test requirements and hotel hosting for incoming travelers have been adopted elsewhere including Canada). The President and Ghana’s healthcare team were featured and praised on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) last weekend and the beginning of the week.
Ghana is considered one of Africa’s most stable, most democratic, most free and the beckon of Africa. Ghana has to forge ahead to transcend democratic governance to bring development, reduce corruption and waste, improve infrastructure, improve the standard of living, and create wealth, living conditions, public goods and services for its people.
